I guess I've procrastinated long enough and now is the time (past the time, really) to let you gentle readers know what's going on with my books. Some of you may have noticed that with the exception of Edging Past Reality, my books are no longer available for download. All, including EPR, are now out of print and are no longer available in bookstores. I just checked Amazon and it looks like there are three copies left of Silent Kill and only one each of Playing the Hand She's Dealt and Spyder. I deeply apologize if this has caused an inconvenience for anyone. Silent Kill, Playing the Hand She's Dealt, and Spyder were published by L&L Dreamspell. Sadly, Linda Houle, co-owner of L&L, recently passed away from cancer. Lisa Smith, the other co-owner, had started L&L Dreamspell with Linda as a labor of love shared by best friends. With Linda's passing, Lisa decided to shut down Dreamspell. This was something Lisa had to do and I will always admire and respect the job she and Linda did. L&L Dreamspell was one class act and I will miss working with them. My heart goes out to Lisa and Linda's family. I was so looking forward to sending them my next Louise Miller novel (a work in progress). But in the words of Kurt Vonnegut ~ so it goes. Although it will always feel a little strange, Louise Miller will find a new home.
Looking toward the future ~
So, what does this mean for my books? At this time I am looking for new publishing houses who will accept already published titles, or I may even self publish. One way or another, they will all be available again in bookstores and online. (I'm actually going through each book right now trying to fix any grammatical errors and typos that snuck through on the first printing.) That being said, although my titles are no longer available through conventional means, I still have some copies of each book (I've kept a supply for readings, signings, book fairs, etc.). Until I run out, you can still order autographed (or not) copies through my website (http://davidfingerman.com just click on 'autographed books'). Not only that, but because of the inconvenience, I am temporarily lowering the prices to $10 each. And hey, because they're now out of print, I guess you can consider them collector's editions. Who knows what they might be worth one day (or not)?

In other me writing news, Two Degrees Closer to Hell, my new collection of short stories (the title pretty much says it all), is set to be released on December 17th by another wonderful press, Staccato Publishing. More news about that will be forthcoming as the date draws near.
